How much does Serato DJ Pro cost in 2026? Serato DJ Pro costs $11.99 a month or $299 to buy outright, according to Serato’s pricing page. Serato DJ Suite, which adds every expansion plus Serato Studio and the new iPhone and iPad app, is $14.99 a month or $499. Serato DJ Lite is free, and the iOS app alone is $149 outright.
Many DJs shouldn’t pay anything. If your controller or mixer unlocks Serato DJ Pro when it’s plugged in, Serato says you don’t need a licence or subscription at all. The real decision is whether your hardware already covers you, then whether you’ll keep Serato long enough for buying outright to beat a monthly plan: around two years for DJ Pro, nearly three for DJ Suite.
Quick takeaways
- Serato DJ Lite is free; Serato DJ Pro is $11.99 a month or $299 outright.
- Serato DJ Suite is $14.99 a month or $499 and includes DVS, Pitch ‘n Time DJ, Video, Flip, Play, advanced FX, Club Kit, Serato DJ for iOS and Serato Studio.
- Hardware that unlocks Serato DJ Pro means you pay nothing for DJ Pro, and selected unlock devices include DVS too.
- Buying DJ Pro outright works out cheaper than subscribing from month 25; DJ Suite from month 34.
- Serato DJ for iOS is free with limits, $149 to buy for iPhone and iPad only, or included in DJ Suite.
- Club Kit mixers need a DJ Suite licence for any Pro features, per Serato’s hardware support article.
- Serato’s pricing pages list monthly plans only; no annual subscription is shown.
What this guide adds: Serato’s own pages split prices, hardware rules and iOS limits across several places. Here they’re in one table, with the month each subscription overtakes the outright price, and a flow chart that starts with the hardware you already own, because that decides more than any feature list.
What are the Serato DJ plans in 2026?
Serato DJ has four ways in for 2026: Serato DJ Lite (free), Serato DJ Pro, Serato DJ Suite and a standalone licence for Serato DJ for iOS. Serato DJ Lite is the free entry version for supported controllers. Serato DJ Pro is the full performance software. Serato DJ Suite is Serato’s bundle of DJ Pro, every DJ Pro expansion, the iOS app and the Serato Studio production software.
| Plan | Monthly | Buy outright | What’s included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Serato DJ Lite | Free | Free | Core DJ features on supported controllers; no set recording | Beginners on a Lite-unlocked controller |
| Serato DJ Pro | $11.99 | $299 | Everything in Lite plus set recording, Stems, Smart Sync, key analysis, MIDI mapping, Smart Crates, 20+ Pro FX, more cue points and sampler slots | Controller DJs who’ve outgrown Lite |
| Serato DJ Suite | $14.99 | $499 | DJ Pro plus DVS, Pitch ‘n Time DJ, Video, Flip, Play, advanced Serato FX, Club Kit, Serato DJ for iOS and Serato Studio | Turntable and club-mixer DJs, video DJs, producer-DJs |
| Serato DJ for iOS (Outright) | — | $149 | Full iOS app features on iPhone and iPad only | DJs who want a phone or tablet rig without a laptop licence |
Prices are Serato’s US list prices in USD, checked October 2026 on serato.com. Serato’s pricing pages show no annual plan.
What does Serato DJ Pro add over Serato DJ Lite?
Serato DJ Pro adds set recording and the performance tools working DJs lean on: Smart Sync, key analysis, MIDI mapping, crate search, Smart Crates, more than 20 Pro FX, more cue points and sampler slots, and advanced pad modes such as Stems FX, Beat Jump and Slicer. That list comes from Serato’s DJ Pro page, which says Pro includes all the core features of Lite.
Serato DJ Pro also separates vocals, melody, bass and drums in real time with Stems, and plays from Apple Music, Beatport, SoundCloud, Spotify and Tidal. Spotify needs a Premium plan and, per Serato’s Spotify FAQ, an active internet connection for playback, so it can’t be your offline gig library.
In a real booth, the feature most Lite users hit first is recording. If you want to capture a set for a mixtape or a promoter, Lite can’t do it. Key analysis and Smart Crates matter more once your library runs into thousands of tracks.
What does Serato DJ Suite include?
Serato DJ Suite includes Serato DJ Pro, all of Serato’s DJ Pro expansions, Serato DJ Club Kit, Serato DJ for iOS and Serato Studio, for $14.99 a month or $499, per Serato’s DJ Suite page. Serato’s expansions page no longer shows separate prices for the expansions; they’re presented as part of DJ Suite.
- Serato DVS: runs control vinyl or CDs on supported turntables or CDJs.
- Serato DJ Club Kit: Serato’s former DJ Pro and DVS bundle for supported club mixers.
- Pitch ‘n Time DJ: changes tempo and key independently.
- Serato Video: video playback, output, recording and effects.
- Serato Flip: records and replays cue points and censor actions to make edits.
- Serato Play: DJ from a laptop alone, without hardware.
- Serato FX (advanced): over 50 effects with savable presets.
The $3 a month gap between DJ Pro and DJ Suite is small next to what it adds, but only if you’ll use at least one of those tools. A controller DJ who never touches turntables, video or production gets nothing extra.
Do you need to pay for Serato DJ Pro if your controller supports it?
Not if your hardware unlocks Serato DJ Pro. Serato’s DJ Pro page says that if you have hardware that unlocks Serato DJ Pro when connected, you don’t need a licence or subscription, and that selected unlock controllers and mixers also include Serato DVS at no extra cost. Serato’s hardware support article splits supported devices into three groups:
- Serato DJ Pro unlocked: plug-and-play with DJ Pro, no purchase needed.
- Serato DJ Lite unlocked: works with free Lite; Pro features need a DJ Pro licence. One licence covers all your Lite-unlocked devices.
- Paid upgrade: needs a licence and activation before it works with DJ Pro. This group includes Club Kit mixers, which need a DJ Suite licence for any Pro features.
Check which group your device sits in on Serato’s hardware list before you pay for anything. It’s the single biggest factor in what Serato costs you. If you’re still choosing hardware, our best budget DJ controllers and best all-in-one DJ systems guides cover the main options.
Is it cheaper to buy Serato DJ Pro or subscribe?
Buying Serato DJ Pro outright for $299 is cheaper than the $11.99 monthly plan once you’ve used it for 25 months. For Serato DJ Suite, $499 outright beats $14.99 a month from month 34. After 36 months, the subscriptions would have cost $431.64 for DJ Pro and $539.64 for DJ Suite.

Two things the chart can’t show. A subscription lets you stop paying in a quiet year, and Serato’s iOS pricing page says that if a DJ Suite subscription ends, you keep the free version while Suite features stop working. An outright licence costs more upfront but keeps working if you stop gigging for a while. If you expect to use Serato for more than two years, buying is the cheaper route; if you’re testing the water or only need Suite for one project, monthly is the lower risk.
How much is Serato DJ for iOS?
Serato DJ for iOS is free with limits, $149 to buy outright, or included in DJ Suite at $14.99 a month, according to Serato’s iOS pricing page.
- Free: 4 Pad FX, 4 cue points, 4 sample slots and 4 cue loops, horizontal waveforms only, basic FX and Stems, no recording, Day Mode, advanced pad modes or DVS.
- Outright ($149): iPhone and iPad only. Raises each of those to 8 and adds all waveform views, advanced FX and Stems, recording, Day Mode, advanced pad modes and DVS.
- DJ Suite: the iOS app plus DJ Pro, all expansions and Serato Studio. Serato offers a 7-day free trial of the paid iOS features.
The $149 licence covers the iOS app only. If you also DJ from a laptop, DJ Suite’s $499 outright price covers both, plus everything else above.
Which Serato plan should you choose?
The right Serato plan depends first on your hardware and second on whether you need turntables, video or production tools. Work through the questions below in order.
Chart: The DJ Mixtape, from Serato’s pricing pages and hardware support article, October 2026.
Which Serato plan suits each type of DJ?
Here’s how the plans map to four common setups.
Start on Lite, upgrade when you record
On a Lite-unlocked controller, Serato DJ Lite costs nothing. The first real reason to pay is wanting to record a mix. A 14-day trial lets you try the full package before committing.
Buy hardware that unlocks Pro
For a working mobile rig, a Pro-unlocked controller removes the software cost entirely. If your controller is Lite-only, DJ Pro outright pays for itself against the monthly plan after about two years of gigs.
Club Kit mixers mean Suite
Turntable DJs need DVS. Some unlock mixers include it; Club Kit mixers need a DJ Suite licence. At $14.99 a month, Suite is only $3 more than DJ Pro alone.
Suite covers both jobs
DJ Suite adds Serato Studio for making edits and beats, plus the iOS app for a backup rig. If you’d use both, it’s better value than DJ Pro plus a separate iOS licence.
How does the Serato DJ Pro free trial work?
Serato offers a 14-day free trial that covers DJ Suite, including DJ Pro, Serato DJ for iOS and all expansions, per the DJ Pro page. Serato’s trial support article says a supported controller or Club Kit hardware must be connected for the trial to start, and you may not be offered it if you’ve already used one on the same computer or Serato account.
Licences are tied to activations on your computers. Serato doesn’t publish the maximum number on its activation help page, but you can free one by logging out of Serato DJ Pro or removing a device from your account’s Manage Devices page. Do that before you sell or wipe a laptop.
Who should skip paying for Serato?
- DJs whose hardware already unlocks DJ Pro. You’d be paying for something you already have.
- Anyone planning to gig from Spotify. Serato’s own FAQ says Spotify playback needs an active internet connection, so it can’t be your offline gig library on any plan. Check Spotify’s terms on public performance too.
- Controller DJs tempted by Suite for one feature they won’t use. If you’ll never touch DVS, video or Studio, DJ Pro is enough.
- DJs mid-way through switching software. If you’re weighing Serato against rekordbox or others, settle that first with our DJ software comparison.
Whatever plan you pick, the software is only as good as the library you feed it. Our best DJ record pools guide covers where working DJs get gig-ready files, and if you’re still learning the software, our DJ Courses Online review looks at one structured way to learn.
Serato DJ Pro price FAQ
Is Serato DJ Pro a one-time purchase?
It can be. Serato DJ Pro is $299 to buy outright or $11.99 a month on subscription, so you choose which way to pay.
Is Serato DJ Lite really free?
Yes. Serato DJ Lite is a free download that works with Lite-unlocked controllers. Set recording and the other Pro features need a DJ Pro licence.
What’s the cheapest way to get Serato DJ Pro?
Use hardware that unlocks it. Serato says Pro-unlocked hardware needs no licence or subscription. Otherwise, the $11.99 monthly plan is cheapest for under two years, and $299 outright is cheaper after that.
Is Serato DJ Suite worth it over DJ Pro?
Only if you’ll use what it adds: DVS for turntables, a Club Kit mixer, Pitch ‘n Time DJ, Video, Serato Studio or the iOS app. It costs $3 a month more than DJ Pro.
Does Serato DJ Pro have an annual plan?
Serato’s pricing pages list monthly subscriptions and outright prices only. No annual plan was shown when we checked in October 2026.
Can I use my Serato DJ Pro licence on iPhone?
Serato’s iOS pricing page lists the iOS app under its own $149 Outright licence or DJ Suite. A DJ Pro licence isn’t listed as covering it.
Verdict: which Serato plan to pay for
- Pay nothing if your controller or mixer unlocks Serato DJ Pro.
- Stay on DJ Lite while you’re learning and don’t need to record.
- Buy DJ Pro outright ($299) if you’ll DJ on a Lite-only controller for more than two years; subscribe at $11.99 if you won’t.
- Choose DJ Suite ($14.99 or $499) for turntables, Club Kit mixers, video, production or a laptop-plus-phone setup.
- Buy the iOS licence ($149) only if an iPhone or iPad is your whole rig.
